Position: Accounting Assistant
Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced, organized, and efficient Accounting Assistant to join our firm. The main role of the Accounting Assistant will be to provide accounting support including data entry, processing, and recording transactions, updating the ledger, assisting with audits, and preparing budgets and reports.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform all data entry of cash receipts and trust account payments in the accounting system
Provide all required financial reports to the management committee monthly
Processing transactions, issuing checks, and updating ledgers, budgets, etc.
Assists in internal audit and external audit.
Coordinates creditors’ payments and remittance advice
Assists in the preparation of monthly management reports
Prepares bank and general ledger reconciliations
Compiles VAT schedules & returns
Initiates and Posts payroll-related journals & reconciliations
Perform all bookkeeping functions, including bank reconciliation
Performs any other work-related duties as assigned by the Superior.

Possesses effective oral and written communication skills;
Able to work with little or no supervision;
Possesses excellent time management skills;
Courteous, firm, efficient, dependable, and trustworthy.
Excellent MS Word and Excel skills
Ability to consistently produce high-quality work
Requirements
Degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent.
A professional qualification in Accounting is an added advantage
A minimum of 2 years prior experience in a law firm setting is preferred
Experience with Law Pac Accounting System is an added advantage
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and Trust accounts
